Question 2: What is GCE’s cost impact on CRM?
Answer:
Scope
This applies only to draft quotes created manually or through the quote editor (self-serve) flow. Out of Scope (for MVP) includes:
Scheduled (pre-update) vendor cost changes
Activated quotes
Deal-based quotes
Features
Cost update check via GCE API on quote load.
Pre-update alerts showing if cost will increase or decrease, with a warning to associates.
Post-update notifications indicating cost was updated and may impact price.
Manual price refresh option for associates (no auto-refresh to preserve manual overrides).
CRM Behavior
Quote - On load for quotes, CRM will call the GCE API to check if there is a cost update configured.
Pre-Update: CRM will show if the cost increases or decreases. A warning message will be shown to the associate that the cost will be updated.
Post-Update: Based on the cost update date, the effective date, CRM will show a message that the cost was updated and may impact price. The Associate will have to refresh the price manually. There is no auto refresh from CRM. The auto refresh will override the price but, in some cases, the Associate may override the price manually and will lose the reference.
There is no impact to activated quotes
Quotes that are already activated will not be updated or alerted.
These quotes retain their original pricing, regardless of vendor cost changes.
