For Associates (CRM Experience):

  • Link hardware and warranty items while creating or editing a quote.

  • Automatically carry linked products from CRM into X4A.

  • Reduce manual validation and improve order accuracy.

  • Simplify the quoting and order submission process.

For Customers (Checkout Experience):

  • Hardware and warranty products remain linked from quote to order.

  • Receive a complete and correctly configured solution.

  • Experience a smoother purchasing journey with fewer order issues.

Why This Matters:

Maintaining the link between hardware and warranty products throughout the order lifecycle helps prevent processing errors, supports accurate EDI transactions, and enables successful serial number assignment. The result is a faster, more reliable ordering experience for both associates and customers.

  8. Open the quote by selecting the quote number.

  1. Navigate to Product Import and enter the required SKU details.

  2. Select Add Products.

    • A yellow W icon indicates that manual linking is required.

  3. To manually link a warranty to a hardware product, select the hardware item using the checkbox/flag next to the part number.

  4. Select Attach Changes.

    • The warranty will be linked to the hardware item.

    • The W icon will change to green when linking is successful.

  7. Search using the first few characters of the end-user name and select the correct record.

  8. Return to the product page and select Submit Order.

  9. If the selected end user does not have a contact name and email address, enter the email address in both required contact email fields.

  10. Click Save & Submit.

  11. Review the order details on the confirmation screen and choose whether the order should be processed as Print or No Print.

  12. The system will split the order into two linked orders:

    • Hardware order (for example: 20-16598-21)

    • Warranty order (for example: 20-16598-11)

  13. The Order Confirmation page will display the generated order numbers.

  14. Under Order Distribution Details, select either invoice number to review the order information and verify that the hardware and warranty orders are correctly linked in Impulse.

Important: If the hardware and warranty orders are not linked correctly, the order will fail validation and an error message will be displayed.

✅ Separate hardware and warranty order numbers are generated.
✅ EDI processing and serial assignment can proceed without errors.
