Question 1: What are the key points?

Answer:

  • Renew earlier: Access eligible promotions before the subscription expires.

  • Immediate provisioning: Adobe licenses become available immediately after the Early Renewal is processed.

  • Manual financial review: Billing and financial validation are still completed manually in Connect.

Question 2: Why is this feature important?

Answer:

  • Early access to promotions: Renew before expiration to take advantage of available promotions and pricing opportunities.

  • Immediate provisioning: Renewed licenses are provisioned immediately through Adobe.

  • Adobe rebate compliance: Supports Adobe's requirement for Early Renewal API adoption.

  • Reduced support effort: Provisioning becomes a self-service process rather than a fully manual workflow.

Question 3: Why is this feature needed?

Answer: Adobe requires partners to adopt the Early Renewal API. While license provisioning can be automated, Adobe's billing model introduces integration challenges that prevent full automation in the initial release.

Question 4: What is included in the initial release?

Answer: Automated provisioning with manual financial review. This is an interim release designed to automate license provisioning while billing and financial processes continue to require manual review.

Question 5: What should I know before creating an Early Renewal?

Answer: Before creating an Early Renewal, verify that the request falls within the supported renewal window and that the renewal quantity does not exceed the current subscription quantity.

  • Supported renewal window: Early Renewals can be created from 30 days before expiration until 7 days before expiration.

  • Not allowed during the final 7 days: Early Renewals cannot be submitted within the last 7 days before subscription expiration.

  • Quantity restriction: The Early Renewal quantity cannot exceed the current subscription quantity. If additional licenses are required, complete an upsize first and then create the Early Renewal.

Question 6: How do I create an Early Renewal?

Answer: From request to completion:

Step 1: Open the Renewal Preview

Navigate to the Adobe Reseller Console, open the customer details page for the subscription you want to renew, and select Renewal Preview.

Step 2: Select the Early Renewal Quantity

For each part number in the subscription, enter the quantity you want to renew early and submit the request.

Step 3: Request Awaiting Billing Review

Now the billing team will complete this request in Connector. Because this is an interim release, the billing team may need to perform manual review and processing before the request is completed.

Question 7: What provisioning behavior should I be aware of?

Answer: Adobe makes renewed licenses available immediately after the Early Renewal is processed. Because licenses become available right away, a manual billing review is still required in the initial release.

Question 8: What is the key takeaway?

Answer: To successfully create an Early Renewal:

  • Submit the renewal within the supported eligibility window (30 to 7 days before expiration).

  • Ensure the renewal quantity does not exceed the current subscription quantity.

  • Complete an upsize before creating the Early Renewal if additional licenses are required.

  • Expect a manual billing review until future automation enhancements are available.
