Overview
To support consistent pipeline management across Ingram Micro, we've introduced CRM enhancements that give teams greater control over auto-quote behavior.
Customers can now configure when an opportunity is automatically created and ensure existing quotes are saved when possible, reducing unnecessary creation and improving data quality.
Core Capabilities Introduced
Opportunity Creation Control
Associated case or contact opportunity creation using:
Vendor-proprietary configuration
country-level configuration
⚠️ Vendor-level configuration takes precedence over country-level configuration
Revenue-Source Eligibility
A revenue threshold can be configured
An opportunity is created only if the estimated revenue meets or is between the top and bottom threshold
If revenue is below the threshold, an auto quote is created without an opportunity
Revision-Based Opportunity Creation
If an auto quote was initially created without an opportunity, it can later:
Be reprocessed
Generate an opportunity via a revision
The same auto quote ID is retained
A new revision record is created (not a new quote)
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1: Configure Opportunity Rules
In GDS, hover over the left-hand menu and click into Vendor Programs.
Search for your vendor and click into the vendor program that contains quote and opportunity settings.
Within the program, click into the Autoquote tab and scroll down to Quote and Opportunity settings.
Expand this section and review all the different configurations for opportunity creation.

Step 2: Auto Quote Is Created
When an auto quote is created:
A bid is processed
The system checks:
opportunity flag status
revenue threshold
Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
Revenue below threshold | Auto quote is created without an opportunity |
Revenue meets threshold | Auto quote is created with an opportunity |
Step 3: Opportunity Request Payload (When Created)
When an opportunity is created, the system sends to CRM:
Probability percentage (e.g., 25%)
Estimated revenue
Estimated close date
Primary owner
Key value driver values
These values appear exactly in the CRM Opportunity fields.

Step 4: Reprocessing a Bid
If the opportunity was initially suppressed:
Adjust the Quote & Opportunity settings so the bid qualifies for an opportunity to be created
Reprocess the bid
System:
Creates a new revision and quote number
Refreshes the opportunity
Keeps the same Auto Quote ID
You'll now see:
Multiple revision entries
The latest revision containing the Opportunity ID

FAQ
What are the new CRM enhancements introduced by Ingram Micro?
The new CRM enhancements provide teams with greater control over auto-quote behavior, allowing customers to configure when an opportunity is automatically created and ensuring existing quotes are saved when possible.
How does opportunity creation control work?
Opportunity creation can be controlled through vendor-proprietary and country-level configurations, with vendor-level configuration taking precedence.

Is it necessary to enable the 'Opportunity Enabled' setting for auto quotes?
Yes, if the 'Opportunity Enabled' setting is disabled, no new auto quotes will contain an automatically generated opportunity.
