Summary:

This article explains what happens if you try to change or cancel your subscription renewal within 72 hours of renewal in Xvantage.

Question: What happens if I want to change or cancel my renewal within 72 hours of renewal?

Answer: In the 72 hours before your subscription renews, a lock period begins. During this time, you can't make changes like increasing or decreasing licenses, canceling the subscription, or modifying terms. This 72-hour window is for processing renewal orders, adjusting seats, updating billing, and other activities before the renewal is completed.

If you want to make changes at the end of your subscription, such as canceling at renewal or selecting an Extended Service Term (EST), and you submit your request during the lock period, it might not be processed until after the renewal.

Once the subscription renews, the end-of-term changes have already taken effect, and EST might no longer apply. In such cases, you can submit eligible requests during the 7-day adjustment period after renewal. The 7-day post-renewal adjustment window lets you make eligible changes after the renewal has processed, in line with Microsoft NCE policies and platform procedures.

If you need to make a change during the 72-hour lock period, wait until the renewal is complete, then submit your request within the 7-day adjustment window.
