Question 1: How can I link a warranty to a past hardware purchase from the cart?

Answer: When selecting “Link to hardware” on a warranty line in the cart, you can now choose the “Past purchase” option. This allows you to search for eligible orders using a Reseller PO, ERP Order #, or Order Confirmation #, making it easier to associate warranties with previously purchased hardware.

Question 2: What happens after I select a past order for warranty linkage?

Answer: Once an order is selected, the system guides you through the process by displaying only compatible hardware products from that order. After choosing the hardware, you can then select the corresponding serial numbers to complete the linkage.

Question 3: How does the system handle quantity differences between hardware and warranty lines?

Answer: The linkage experience is quantity-aware and adapts automatically:

  • If quantities match, a full linkage is applied

  • If only part of the hardware needs coverage, partial selection is supported

  • If required, the system automatically splits warranty lines to ensure accurate alignment

This ensures warranties are correctly associated with the intended hardware units.

Question 4: How does the system ensure only valid orders are available for linkage?

Answer: Built‑in validation ensures that only eligible orders are displayed. Orders must fall within vendor‑defined grace periods and contain compatible SKUs, helping prevent incorrect or invalid warranty associations.

Question 5: Can I manage or change linked serial numbers after linking a warranty?

Answer: Yes. Linked serial numbers are clearly visible within the cart on the warranty line. From there, you can easily manage or unlink the serial numbers directly, giving you full control without leaving the cart experience.
