How to Comply with Microsoft Partner of Record (POR) Guidelines

Overview:

This article explains how Xvantage for Customers resellers can ensure that they comply with the new Microsoft Partner of Record (POR) guidelines to avoid any disruptions of service when purchasing Microsoft products on Xvantage for Customers.

Process:

  1. Verify your PLA ID by going to the Microsoft Partner Center > Account Settings > Identifiers and confirming that the number is a valid PLA ID, not a Partner Global Account (PGA) ID.

  2. Ensure that the PLA ID is linked to an active CSP indirect reseller tenant. If not, you (the reseller) must enroll for CSP indirect reseller authorization.

  3. Confirm that your CSP tenant's business address is in the same CSP region as your distributor's tenant. If not, you might need to onboard a new tenant in the correct region.

Please note: After Microsoft’s recent updates, the company’s MPA only needs to be accepted by you (the reseller) once in the Microsoft Partner Center, and afterwards it is implicitly reaccepted whenever new versions are released.
