How to Enable / Disable Auto Renewal for Adobe Subscription in Xvantage™

Prev Next

Overview:

This article explains how to enable or disable auto-renewal for an Adobe subscription in Xvantage™.

Audience / Team to Handle:

  • Customer / Reseller (Primary): This is a self-service action and should normally be completed by the customer.

  • Sales: May assist customers with enabling or disabling auto-renewal on their behalf.

  • Support: Should only become involved if:

    • An error occurs while changing the auto-renew setting.

    • The change is not reflected after several minutes.

    • The auto-renew option is unavailable or missing.

Purpose / When to Use This Guide:

This guide explains how to enable or disable auto-renewal for an Adobe subscription in Xvantage™. Disabling auto-renewal prevents the subscription from automatically renewing at the end of its current term.

Prerequisites / Requirements:

  • Access to Xvantage™.

  • Permissions to manage subscriptions.

Process:

  1. How to Disable/Enable Auto Renew in Xvantage

    1. Navigate to My Business → Subscriptions.

    2. Open the subscription you want to modify.

    3. Select Manage Renewal.

    4. Review the current auto-renewal status.

    5. Toggle Auto-Renew on or off, depending on your preference.

  1. What Happens After You Disable Auto‑Renew

    1. Vendor Confirmation Delay

After you enable or disable auto-renewal:

      • Xvantage™ sends the request to the vendor (for example, Adobe or Microsoft).

      • The vendor must confirm the requested change.

      • The confirmation process may take several minutes.

During this period, the updated status may not appear immediately in the user interface.

    2. “Pending Change” Banner

While the request is being processed, the following message may appear:

"There is a pending change to this subscription's auto-renewal setting. You will be able to change the subscription when the request in the external system is completed."

This behavior is expected. Do not attempt to change the auto-renew setting again while this message is displayed, as doing so may create conflicting requests or cause delays. [How to Ena...Xvantage™ | PDF]

    3. Final Update

Important: Do not toggle auto‑renew again while this banner is visible. Doing so may cause conflicting requests or delays.

Once the vendor confirms the request:

  • The banner disappears

  • The subscription will show the updated Auto‑Renew status

  • A pop up banner should appear at the top of the screen to confirm (screenshot below)

No further action is required.

  1. When to Raise a Support Case

Contact Support only if:

  • An error message appears while changing the auto-renew setting.

  • The pending change notification remains for an unusually long time.

  • The subscription status does not update after several minutes.

  • The auto-renew option is unavailable or missing.

Support will then investigate the vendor's response and complete the change if possible.

  1. Important Notes / Limitations

  • Auto-renewal changes depend on vendor confirmation.

  • Some vendors may restrict auto-renewal changes close to the renewal date.

  • Support cannot override vendor-imposed restrictions.

  • Disabling auto-renewal does not cancel the current subscription term; it only prevents future renewal.

Expected Outcome

  • Auto-renew is enabled or disabled for the selected subscription, depending on the action performed.

  • If auto-renewal is disabled, the subscription expires at the end of the current term unless it is manually renewed.

  • The updated status is reflected in Xvantage™ after vendor confirmation.
