How to Grant Consent to the Microsoft Analytics and Management (MSAM) in Xvantage™

Prev Next

Overview:

When a reseller is prompted to grant consent, they are authorizing the Microsoft Analytics and Management (MSAM) application to use their Microsoft Entra ID credentials. This consent allows MSAM to:

  • Access the same information the reseller can already view in Partner Center

  • Perform the same actions the reseller is already permitted to perform

  • Display Microsoft Partner Center data directly within the MSAM tool in Xvantage

Microsoft Analytics and Management (MSAM) does not request or obtain any new or elevated permissions when consent is granted. The application leverages the reseller’s existing Microsoft Partner Center permissions to view and manage customer tenants.

MSAM operates on behalf of the reseller, using the reseller’s identity to mirror the same access and actions already permitted within Partner Center.

The MSAM tool provides multiple features and functionalities for managing their customers tenants within a single-pane-of-glass interface, allowing for centralized visibility.

Note: You must be a Global Admin in your Microsoft Partner Center tenant to be able to grant access to MSAM.

Note: To Grant Consent you must have the Microsoft Analytics and Management SKU provisioned in Xvantage for the tool to be available under Cloud Services vertical. Refer to our official article How to Order a Microsoft Analytics and Management (MSAM) SKU in Xvantage™.
