Product Search on the Compare Page FAQ Xvantage™

Summary:

The Compare page now supports multiple ways to find and add products for comparison. Instead of searching by SKU only, users can also search using a Vendor Part Number (VPN) or product-related keywords, making it easier to discover products and build comparisons quickly.

Question 1: How can I search for a product on the Compare page?

Answer: You can search for products using:

SKU
Vendor Part Number (VPN)
Product keywords, such as:
- Product name
- Manufacturer name
- Descriptive product terms

The search field accepts free-text input and automatically identifies the appropriate search criteria.

Question 2: Can I still search using a SKU?

Answer: Yes. SKU search continues to be fully supported.

Question 3: Can I search using a Vendor Part Number (VPN)?

Answer: Yes. You can search directly by entering a valid Vendor Part Number.

Process:

Log in to Xvantage™.
Hover over to the left navigation menu and select Products, then View All.
On the Products page and click the Compare button on the top right.
On the Compare products page, click Add product.
Enter the Vendor Part Number in the search field.
Products matching the VPN will be displayed in the results list.
Select the desired product and add it to the comparison tray.

Question 4: What keywords can I use to search for products?

Answer: You can search using product-related keywords, including:

Product names
Manufacturer names
Descriptive product terms
Relevant searchable product attributes where available

Examples:

"Dell Monitor"
"HP"
"Wireless Mouse"
"USB-C Dock"

The system searches across product information to return relevant matching products.

Question 5: What information will I see in the search results?

Answer: Each search result may include:

Product Name
SKU
Vendor Part Number (VPN), when available
Product Thumbnail, when available

This information helps you identify the correct product before adding it to the comparison tray.
