Troubleshooting Order Status: What Does "Processing" Mean? Xvantage™

Summary

This article provides explanation of primary reason why your order is in “Processing” status in Xvantage.

Problem

Your Xvantage™ order status is "Processing" and you're unsure why.

Explanation

If you’ve recently placed an order and noticed the status is listed as Processing, it means your order has not yet been finalised in our core systems. This temporary state indicates the order is currently pending a manual or automated review by the Ingram Micro team to ensure everything is accurate and secure.

Possible Causes and Solutions

Below are the primary reasons why your order might be in this state:

  1. Fraud Detection Checks

To protect your account and business, our platform uses behavioural analytics and security rules to flag unusual activity. An order may be held for review if:

  • New Device: You are logged in from a device or browser you don’t typically use.

  • Location Mismatch: The login originates from a different region or country than usual.

  • Order Volume: The order value or quantity is significantly larger than your historical average.

What happens next? An Ingram Micro associate will review the flagged order. We will either release it for fulfillment or contact you directly to verify the purchase.

  1. Account Blocks

If your account has been placed on hold or has been closed for any reason (such as credit limits or administrative updates), our system cannot automatically generate the order.

Solution:

  • The order will remain in "Processing" until a team member reviews the account status.

  • Once reviewed, we will either reject the order or contact you to resolve the account issue.

  1. Technical & Validation Issues

Sometimes, external variables change between the moment you add an item to your cart and the moment you hit "Submit." These can include:

  • Product Availability: A product's status changed (e.g., moved to end-of-life or out of stock) during checkout.

  • Shipping Validations: Issues with the provided shipping address that require manual correction.

  • Vendor Rules: The order failed to meet specific mandatory requirements set by the product vendor.

Solution: If your order is still Processing after 24 hours, reach out to your sales representative.
