Question #1: When is a Change of Reseller required?
Answer: A Change of Reseller is required when an Adobe subscription is associated with a different reseller than the one intended to manage it in Xvantage™.
This commonly occurs when:
A customer switches resellers
The Adobe agreement exists under another reseller
The subscription cannot be imported due to reseller mismatch
Question #2: Why can’t I import my Adobe subscription without changing the reseller?
Answer: Adobe subscriptions are linked to a specific Adobe Reseller ID.
If the reseller associated with the Adobe agreement does not match the reseller in Xvantage, the system will block the import. Adobe requires the reseller association to be updated before the subscription can be managed or migrated.
Question #3: What information is required to request a Change of Reseller?
Answer: The following three items are mandatory to submit a reseller change request:
Destination Adobe Reseller ID
The Adobe Reseller ID that the agreement should be transferred to.Approval / Transfer Code
A code generated by the customer in the Adobe Admin Console that authorizes the reseller change.End Customer Administrator Email Address
Must belong to an active Adobe Admin user for the customer account.
All three items are required before the request can be processed.
Question #4: How do I generate the Approval / Transfer Code?
Answer: The Approval / Transfer Code must be generated by the customer.
Process:
Log in to the Adobe Admin Console
Generate the Approval / Transfer Code
Share the code with your reseller or Ingram Micro Support
The transfer code confirms customer authorization and cannot be generated by Sales or Support.
Question #5: Who submits the reseller change request to Adobe?
Answer: Once all required information is collected:
Ingram Micro Support submits the reseller change request to Adobe
The request is processed through Adobe’s system
Adobe Support is only involved if there is a system issue or a large number of reseller changes need to be processed in bulk.
Question #6: What happens after the reseller change is completed?
Answer: After Adobe confirms the reseller change:
The Adobe agreement is associated with the new reseller
The subscription can then be imported into Xvantage™ using:
Seamless Move → Import
The reseller change does not affect:
Existing subscriptions
Billing cycles
License quantities
