Troubleshooting Seamless Move Customer ID Import Errors in Xvantage™

Prev Next

Summary:

This article explains why an Adobe subscription import may fail during a Seamless Move with the error message,"The customer ID belongs to a valid asset in the system and cannot be migrated," and provides the steps required to resolve the issue.

Issue:

When importing an Adobe subscription into Xvantage™ using Seamless Move, the import may fail with the following error message:

"The customer ID belongs to a valid asset in the system and cannot be migrated."

This error prevents the Adobe subscription from being imported successfully.

Cause:

Each Adobe subscription can be associated with only one active subscription record in Ingram Micro's systems.

This error occurs when the Adobe Customer ID being imported is already linked to an existing Adobe subscription in Xvantage™. The existing subscription may be associated with:

  • A different reseller

  • A different customer record

To prevent duplicate or conflicting Adobe assets, the system blocks the import while the existing subscription association remains active.

Resolution:

This issue cannot be resolved directly in Xvantage™.

To resolve the issue:

  1. Contact Ingram Micro Support.

  2. Provide the Adobe Customer ID and indicate that the import fails because the customer ID is already linked to an existing subscription.

  3. Request verification and removal of the existing subscription association, if appropriate.

  4. After the association has been cleared, retry the import using Seamless Move.

Once the existing subscription association has been removed, the Adobe subscription can be imported successfully.
